Lawrence R. "Larry" Arch, 84, of Herminie, passed away Friday , Oct. 21, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born July 20, 1938, in Irwin, a son of the late Stanley and Sally (Medler) Arch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Nina Miller; and nephew, Bobby Miller. Larry was the owner/operator of NAPA Herminie Auto Parts for the past 59 years. He was still working until his illness eight months ago. Larry was also co-owner of Herminie Motor Co. before it closed. He was a member of St. Edward Church in Herminie and past member of Parish Council. He was also a member of the SNPJ Lodge 87 in Herminie. He was the longest serving member of the Sewage Authority and served the Herminie Business and Civic Association in several capacities. He attended Penn State and Duquesne Universities. He enjoyed taking his boat to Erie to fish for walleye and also loved going to his camp in Raystown. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lisa (Englert) Arch; a daughter, Lori (Paul) Coleman, of Texas; son, Larry J. Arch, of Herminie; daughter, Lynsey Arch, of Pittsburgh; two special granddaughters, Laurel and Lily Kate; a sister, Judy (Lou) Cecchett, of Ohio, their children, Christine (Tom) Okonak, of Ohio, Tracy (Richard) Mueller, of Switzerland and nieces and nephew, Ellie, Sadie, ZoeLou and Lenard; a brother-in-law, Robert Miller, of Florida and his daughter, Amy Yandell and niece, Emma and nephew, Austin. Larry will be dearly missed by his family, many friends and customers near and far. He will forever be remembered for his smile, love for his family and his community. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Excel Home Care and especially to Bridges Hospice Care for their loving care and support and also Dr. Kad of Excela Westmoreland Hospital for his heartfelt compassion. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, in St. Edward Church, Herminie, with Father Vincent Yee Concepcion officiating. Please go directly to church.
