Linda A. Ghion

Linda A. Ghion, 66, of Martinsburg, W. Va., formerly of Herminie, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016, in North Huntingdon at her cousin Nancy's home. She was born March 14, 1950, in Greensburg, daughter of the late Frank M. (Maxie) and Mary (Bailley) Ghion. Prior to her retirement she had worked for the Berkeley County School District as a teacher/principal for 41 years. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Martinsburg, W. Va., and taught Sunday school for more than 30 years. She was very creative and loved doing all types of crafts including teaching a calligraphy and stamping class. She was an avid reader and was a 4H Leader for many years. Linda is survived by her brother, Donald F. Ghion, of Herminie, and her sister, Audrey (Jim) Harnish, of Arizona; three nieces, Rachel DeForrest, Amber Ghion Vargo and her husband, David, and Jillian Flick and husband, Keith; her nephew, Jason Harnish and wife, Diana; four great-nephews, Brayden, Landon, Derek and Nicholas; great-niece, Alayda; special cousin and caregiver, Nancy (George) Gaffron and cousin, Kathy Gulden; and dear friend, Linda Crim. Linda is also survived by the entire Beddington School family and her feline companions, Callie and Bailley, whom she loved dearly. The family would like to thank the staff at Medi Home Hospice for all their love and compassionate care. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the JOSEPH W. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
