Lloyd M. Goslicky

Lloyd M. Goslicky, 96, of Greensburg, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, when he passed away peacefully in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Dec. 20, 1926, in Everson, and was a son of the late Lloyd M. and Cecelia (Hendrykowska) Goslicky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor L. (Wardell) Goslicky; seven sisters, Cecelia, Genevieve, Violet, Helen, Mary, Gladys and Dolly; two brothers, Vincent and Ben and his loving companion of ten years, Helen Wolfgang. Prior to retirement, Lloyd was a shipper, having worked for U.S. Steel in Lorain, Ohio, for more than 35 years. He was an avid fisherman, having a boat on Lake Erie, where he enjoyed catching walleye and sharing his feast to all his neighbors. He actually contributed his long life to eating fish. Lloyd loved the outdoors and gardening. He also loved riding his bicycle clear up to the age of 80. He will forever be remembered for always putting others before himself. Lloyd is survived by four special nieces, Karen (Ronald), Kathy (Robert), Karlene (Dale) and Leslie (John); two special nephews, Karl (Angelita) and Wade (Vivian); and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews who loved him dearly. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank Dr. Rahual Kad and RN Sam and Barbara Clark for their loving care. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME, 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251, at which time a funeral liturgy will be held in the funeral home with Father Vincent Yee Concepcion officiating. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Lloyd.
