Lois J. (Grubb) Hood

Lois J. Hood, 79, of Manor, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 20, 1943, in Williamsburg. She was the daughter of the late William and Alma (Clapper) Grubb. Lois retired from the trucking industry after 29 years of service in the mileage division. She later worked for Sheetz for 15 years. She was very organized in everything she did.  She enjoyed dinner and movies with her friends and family. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Hood Jr.; brother, William Grubb; sister, Janet Bush and brother-in-law, William Ballantyne. Lois is survived by her three sons, Samuel III (Barbara), of Maryland, Edward (Dawn), of Delaware and Kenneth (Krista), of Claridge; eight special grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Kayla, Samuel IV, Ashley, Courtney, Brenna and Emily; four precious great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Dawn) Grubb, of West Newton; three sisters, Betty (Fred) Fenton, of Florida, Karen (George) Nemit, of Madison and Melanie Ballantyne, of North Irwin; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at the JOSEPH W.
