Louise H. (Smail) Hoadwonic, 82, of Ruffs Dale, peacefully passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at her daughter's home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born July 15, 1938, in Hecla, a daughter of the late George and Ann (Babick) Smail. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas "Nick" Hoadwonic, in 2006; her infant daughter, Pamela Marie; infant brother, George Smail; two nephews, Donald Hoadwonic and James Tomich; and brother-in-law, Charles Tomich. Prior to her retirement, Louise worked for several different employers, D A Auto Auction, Carradam Golf Course, St. Moritz Building Services at Westinghouse, as well as private house cleaning. She was a member of Seven Dolors Church in Yukon. Louise enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, crossword puzzles, Scrabble and spending time with friends, going to bingo and yard sales. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she deeply cherished, as well as many friends who spent time with her and called her "Gram." Louise was always the person who made you laugh and smile with a heart of gold. You could always count on her and she always put everyone first. The family would like to thank our dearest friends, Lisa and Dave Ritenour, for always being there and all of their help and support, and Heartland Hospice. Louise is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Donna Hoadwonic (Vince Comini), of Yukon, and his two sons, Vince Jr. and Joey; son, Nicholas (Debbie) Hoadwonic, of Mt. Pleasant; four special grandchildren, Louisa Carney, Terry E. (Bethany) Quashnock, Billielynn and Benjamin Hoadwonic; three special great-grandchildren, Dominique Brown, Emro Nicholas Quashnock and Cora Vanilla; two brothers, Samuel (Wanda) Smail and Thomas (Mary) Smail, both of Hecla; her sister, Anna Marie Tomich, of Norvelt; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and many great friends who she enjoyed very much. Louise will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the JOSEPH W.
