Marcia Lavern (Ewig) Crise, 60, passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at her home in Denison, Texas, with her loving family by her side. Marcia was born Aug. 6, 1961, in Greensburg, daughter of Genevieve (Gena) Hixson Ewig, of Greensburg, and the late Calvin (Cal) Ewig. Her loving husband of 38 years, Wayne, was always by her side. Her children, Rachel Crise, of Austin, Texas, Evan and his wife, Mila Gallardo Crise, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Angela Crise, of Dallas, Texas, tenderly cared for their mother and fought alongside her during her 11-year struggle with cancer. She was active in her home community and was a band and Stingerette Mom during her children's time at Denison High School. Her family was the center of her life and she supported them in their many endeavors. Marcia graduated from the Shadyside School of Nursing and dedicated her life to caring for her patients for almost 40 years. She was employed at Medical City Dallas Hospital until March of 2019. Marcia was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Orthodox Church, in Denison, Texas. Her patron Saint is Venerable Sophia of Ainos–Mother of Orphans. She is survived by her siblings, Mark (Evelyn) Ewig, of Denison, Texas, and Amy (Michael) Lichwa, of West Newton, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her puppy, Gilbert.
*** A memorial service will be held for Marcia at 2 p.m. SATURDAY OCTOBER 1, 2022, at the Madison Union Cemetery, in Madison, with Father John Parker officiating, to celebrate Marcia’s life.
