Marian R. Martin, 79, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Herminie, passed away Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at the Winter Haven Hospital. She was born Jan. 21, 1938, in Jeannette, daughter of the late Steve and Nellie (Hovance) Laskey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Elisio E. "Les" DiVitto. Marian was a past member of St. Edward Church in Herminie. She was very artistic and played several instruments, the accordion, organ and drums. She loved to go boating and fishing on Lake Dexter in Winter Haven. Marian is survived by her loving husband of more than 49 years, James M. Martin; a daughter, Kelly (Jose) Ruiz; two sons, James and David Martin; two special granddaughters, Caitlin and Isabella; a sister, Pauline DiVitto, of Monessen; and brother, Bob (Kay) Laskey, of Mt. Pleasant. Marian will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors in Winter Haven and Herminie. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637. A funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
