Mario Gioannini

Mario Gioannini, 88, of Herminie, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born April 24, 1929, in Herminie, a son of the late Carlo and Teresa (Boggio) Gioannini. Prior to his retirement, Mario was employed by Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh as a draftsman for 35 years. He was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, and its altar rosary society. Mario was an Army veteran. He loved spending time with his family, especially since his great-grandson, Bennett, arrived. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Justino Gioannini. Mario is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia "Patsy" (Grabiak) Gioannini; son, Robert "Bob" (Tracy) Gioannini, of Florida; daughter, Linda Roskey and Joe Bonacci, of North Huntingdon; two special grandsons, Tony Gioannini and Danny Roskey and Jessica Kunkle; special, great-grandson, Bennett Roskey; dear niece, Nancy and her husband, Alex Grebur, of Herminie; also a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Mario's smile, love for his family and eagerness to always help a neighbor will forever remain in our hearts. He will be dearly missed by his family, many friends and neighbors in Wineland Acres. A private funeral liturgy was held, per Mario's wishes, on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2107 at JOSEPH W.
