Martha Tietze Obituary

Martha Belle Tietze, 87, of Herminie, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020 at her daughter Debbie's home, surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Scottdale, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth (Gallagher) Felgar. Martha was a lifelong member of the Herminie United Methodist Church. She made wonderful friendships during her time spent involved with the church. She was an excellent baker, especially her home-made buns, cinnamon rolls and cakes. Martha enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them dearly. Family was everything to her. She loved to babysit the grandkids and bake for them. Anyone who met her loved her. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Debbie. She was a wonderful mom and Debbie's best friend in the world. She was Debbie's life and she will always have special memories to hold in her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harrold R. "Red" Tietzen in 2010, her daughter, Barbara Humelsine; her son, Ronald Tietze, and her granddaughter, Kassandra Grace Tietze; three brothers, Samuel, Robert and Jack Felgar; and six sisters, Betty Keefer, Frances Welch, Mary Keefer, Dorothy Johnson, Doris Felgar and Edith Kelley. Martha is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Deborah (Dennis) Gentsch, of Herminie; daughter-in-law, Kim Tietze, of Madison, five wonderful grandchildren, Laura (Matt) Freas, Adrian (Rick) Repasky, Nicole (David) Sprung, Teresa (Bubba) Smith and Aaron Tietze; four special great-grandchildren, Christopher (Veronica) Sprung and Kirsten Sprung, Cameron (Anna) Repasky and Ricky Repasky; two sisters, Muriel Booher and Marjorie Couchenour, both of Bullskin Township; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her two special friends, Patti Francis and Catherine Catalina, who also helped in her care. The family wishes a special thank you to her granddaughter, Nicole, for helping take care of grandma every day since she became ill. Grandma was her life. A special thank you to Excela Hospice, especially her nurses, Anne and Leanne, for all their love they showed Martha. Private visitation will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at the JOSEPH W.
