Mary Catherine Walker

Mary Catherine Walker, 98, of Darragh, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. She was born June 21, 1925, in Bairdford, a daughter of the late Paul and Margaret (Ward) Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul (Isabel) Walker and John (Lucille) Walker; two aunts, Mary Ward and Catherine Ward, whom resided with her and she was their caregiver for many years; her aunt, Sarah McMahon; niece, Nancy Walker; cousin, Donald (Lois) McMahon; and two great-nephews, Chad and Christopher Walker; nephew, Pat Walker; and longtime friend, Jim Henderson. Prior to her retirement in 1987, she was a factory worker, having worked for Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh for many years. She was a member of St. Edward Church in Herminie. She loved chocolate and her favorite holiday was Christmas, especially decorating her home. She also enjoyed visiting with her family. Mary Catherine is survived by her special nieces and nephews, whom she loved with all her heart, Shirley (Bob) Montgomery, Paul Walker, Sherry Walker, Terry (Jean) Walker, Geary (Cheryl) Walker, Maureen (Bernie) Amadio, Peg (John) Yankes, Kevin (Dianne) Walker; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Mary Catherine will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors at Redstone.
