Michael Joseph Schenk peacefully passed on from this life at the young age of 66. This Buffalo, New York native was born on September 11, 1958 to Kenneth William Schenk (deceased) & Rose Marie Mineo. After 37 years employed in the food processing industry, Michael made a career change and worked for Axon, where his leadership as GM/VP was immensely valued. He was a partner at Grace Raleigh Church, where he found an amazing family of believers in Jesus Christ.
In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his adoring wife of 41 years, Susan Lynn Schroeder Schenk; his children, Samantha Stewart (Kasey), Alexandra Fiscus, and his bonus daughter, Kelly Riter (Steven); his grandchildren, Stevie Lynn, Millie Sue, and Remington Michael; his sibling, Kevin Schenk (Karen), and nieces; and his brother-in-law, Lawrence Schroeder.
Michael will be remembered for his hilarious and dry sense of humor. He was a dedicated fan of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. His passion for coaching ice hockey extended to youth, high school, collegiate, and men’s teams. His favorite role was a Papa to his beloved grandchildren; they simply adored his playful antics and hugs. Michael saw his greatest accomplishment in his daughters. His faith, integrity, compassion and humor blessed those who knew him. He did not settle for mediocrity, but committed to giving his best in all pursuits.
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Michael Schenk will be held at a later date.
