Mildred A. “Millie” (Vuleta) Borosky

Mildred A. Borosky, 92, of Herminie, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023, in Hempfield Manor. She was born July 9, 1931, in North Huntingdon, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Hegedus) Vuleta. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Borosky; five sisters, Ann Matovich, Helen Piovesan, Marie Zaverl, Rosemary Perrott and Sophie Kotok; and five brothers, Pete, Daniel, George, Paul and Steve Vuleta. Millie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and loved baking for her family and preparing home cooked meals. She was famous for her spaghetti sauce, and no one could replicate it. She was a past member of St. Edward Church in Herminie. Millie is survived by her two daughters, Helen (William) Leighty, of Herminie, and Joan (Jim) Kasa, of Irwin; five grandchildren, Michael Leighty, Joseph (Kayla))Leighty, Adam Leighty, Lisa McDonald and William Leighty Jr., and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Samuel (Nancy) Vuleta, of Kentucky, Joe Vuleta, of Washington; two sisters, Julia Cruder, of Greensburg, and Patty Benn, of Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Millie will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Hempfield Manor and Excela Health Hospice for their love and compassionate care over the past four years. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, in the funeral home with Father David J. Nazimek officiating.
