Nancy J. (McClellan) Lord

Nancy J. Lord, 77, of Irwin, died peacefully Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in Hempfield Manor, Greensburg, surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 30, 1944, in McKeesport, daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Summerville) McClellan. Prior to her retirement, she had worked for Jeannette Hospital in the cafeteria, preparing and serving food for many years. Nancy enjoyed walking every day, gardening and making quilts. She had a special love for her dogs and cats. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Lord, in 2010, a brother, Edward McClellan, and sister, June McClellan. Nancy is survived by her son, Todd (Kelley) Lord, of Hunker; two granddaughters, Sera Lord, Trina Lord and step-grandson, Jacob Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Hempfield Manor for their compassionate care. A memorial to celebrate Nancy's life will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251, at which time a memorial service will take place in the funeral home. Private inurnment will be held in Mars Hill Baptist Cemetery at a later date.
