Patrice K. (Smeltzer) Whetzel

Patrice K. Whetzel, 60, of Herminie, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 7, 1958, in Frankfort, Mich., daughter of Marjorie (Barnard) Smeltzer, of Michigan and the late Lester V. Smeltzer. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Smeltzer; and a sister, Margaret Kocevar. Patrice was employed by Crisp Control Inc. in Irwin as a laborer on the assembly line for the past three years. She was a hard worker, loved her family and enjoyed life to the fullest. Patrice is survived by her daughter, Lindsey Whetzel; two sons, Addison Whetzel and Jules Whetzel, all of Herminie; special granddaughter, Aubrey Sager; father of her children, Troy Whetzel, of Herminie; a sister, Michelle (Brent) Leines, of Michigan; sister-in-law, Jan Smeltzer, of Arizona; brother-in-law, Randy Kocevar, of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Patrice will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, 724-446-7251, at which time a memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Susan G.
