Paul E Walthour, 68, of Thomasville, NC formerly of Greensburg, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 peacefully in his slumber at home.
Born December 10, 1955, in his hometown of Greensburg, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Betty V. (Hays) Walthour and graduated from Hempfield High School, Class of 1973. Paul worked for many years for GC Murphy, Ames, and Ingles in retail service management. Paul enjoyed watching all sports especially his Pittsburgh hometown teams. Although Paul was raised on Pittsburgh staples like kielbasa and pierogi, he came to love his new staples and southern favorites such as fat back and collard greens making his forever home in NC with Debbie.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brothers Rodney A Walthour, Robert E “Bambi” Walthour II (Cynthia) and sister, Patricia W. Gunther (Charles).
Survived by his loving partner, Deborah Edwards; two daughters, Nicole Cook (Tom) , Leah Filiano (Bob); sister, Kathy Poole (Richard); grandchildren Chelsea (Robby) Connor, Cassidy, Bea, C.J., Max, Jack, Gracie and great-grandchildren Wylder and Bodi; special caring friends, Donna Lackey and Sarah Noah; numerous nieces and nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews and extended family members.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1p.m. to 3 p.m Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Joseph W. NIckels Funeral Home Inc., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251 at which time a memorial service will be held in the funeral home to celebrate Paul’s life.
