Robert L. Espey Sr.

Robert L. "Bob" Espey Sr., 79, of Herminie, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born May 24, 1936, in Hahntown, son of the late Harry and Mary (Paulo) Espey Tapolscanyi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Lander Espey. Bob was an Army veteran. Prior to his retirement, he was a self employed carpenter and after retirement had worked for Laid Law as a bus driver for the Norwin School District. Bob was a member of the S.N.P. J. Lodge No. 87 in Herminie. He enjoyed socializing with his family and friends and was proud to be called a Herminite. Bob is survived by his three sons, Robert Espey Jr. (Cindy), of Herminie, Rick Espey (Amy), of Acme, and Randy Espey (Mary), of Kentucky; his daughter, Rhonda Gourdie (Jeff) of Hunker; two special grandchildren, Christa and Connor Gourdie; his sister, Dorothy Ann Christie, of Greensburg; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be sadly missed by his family,friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank the staff at Mountainview Speciality Care Center and Latrobe Hospital for all their love and compassionate care. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the JOSEPH W.
