Sally L. (Baughman) Abate

Sally L. Abate,  85, of Herminie, passed away Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, in Excels Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, surrounded by her family.  She was born June 26, 1940, in Jeannette, daughter of the late Philip and Elsie (Canady) Baughman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her  husband , Ronald R. "Ron" Abate and  her brother, Ron Baughman. 
Prior to her retirement , Sally had worked in the cafeteria, at Yough  Senior High School for more than 25  years. She loved going to bingo and spending time in her garden. She was a member of the Herminie VFW Post 8427 Ladies Auxiliary.  She was also a member of Latrobe #221 Order of the Eastern Star, Latrobe, PA.  She was also a member of the Herminie Senior Center. 
Sally is survived by her two sons, Dr. Ronald R.  (Mary Beth) Abate Jr. of Jeannette, and David A. (Angel) Abate, of North Huntingdon; two special granddaughters, Cecilia Abate and Taylynne Ott;  special great-grandson, Bentley Shirley; sister-in-law, Maxine Bombach of Greensburg; numerous nieces and nephews, and great -nieces and great - nephews . Sally will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. The family would like to  thank  the doctors,  and nurses at Excela Health  Westmoreland Hospital, for all their love and care given to their mom .
