Sandra L. Mears, 78, of Greensburg , passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 4 th, 2025, in Heritage Valley health systems in Beaver , surrounded by her family. She was born on Nov. 2, 1947, in Braddock, a daughter of the late James and Leona ( Johns) Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Marilyn Bright and Suzanne Hutchins.
Sandy was an amazing artist. She loved to paint landscapes and abstracts and do oil painting , to name a few. She enjoyed giving her favorite pieces to her family and friends and was so proud to sell them through a gallery in Arizona. Sandy was an avid reader. But most of all she loved spending time with her family, enjoying her Milo’s Ice Tea and her favorite candy, “KiT -Kats.”
Sandy is survived by her two sons, Raymond W. ( Kimberly Ann) Taylor of Sewickley and Matthew J. ( Pamela Ann) Taylor of Chippewa Twp.; daughter, Dana Lynn Taylor of Mt. Joy; six special grandchildren, Jack, Wilson, Madalyn, Dominique, Connor and Bethany; two special, great -grandchildren, Johnny and Kinsley; a brother, James ( Barbara) Miller of South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews ; great-nieces and great-nephews. Sandy will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, Dec 8 th, 2025, at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday , Dec. 9th , 2025 , in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Sewickley Township Public Library , 312 Sewickley.
