Terence P. Kirchner, 66, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord, on Friday, January 26, 2024, in St. Anne Nursing Home, Greensburg. He had resided there for the past two years.
He was born May 3, 1957, in Pittsburgh, oldest son of the late Leo G. and Patricia A. (Knecht) Kirchner. Terry had an Earth Sciences degree from Penn State where he was also a member of Phi Kappa Tau and an Engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He had a love of knowledge! He was so thrilled with his cross-country trip with many adventures, that he made alone in his beloved truck. He was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, was a movie and music enthusiast, and loved playing the trombone in Baldwin High School’s Marching and Jazz Bands, where hemade lifetime friends.
Terry is survived by his sister, Robin (Rich) Stahl of Herminie, PA; two brothers, Timothy Kirchner of Michigan, and Thomas Kirchner of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. With no children of his own, his selfless love and giving to his immediate family brought him joy and happiness. He will be dearly missed by his family; especially his brother Tim, who shares in the same debilitating disease: Charcot, Marie Tooth (CMT). They shared their sufferings and laughter weekly, if not daily, on FaceTime, supporting each other throughout the many years. Their combined tombstone reads “Brothers in life, Best friends forever.”
May his nickname, “Trailblazer” or “Trail” for short, find him happy as he now is walking many trails in heaven.
