Virginia Marie (Csokuly) Lapsley

Virginia M. Lapsley, 70, of Calabash, N.C., formerly of North Huntingdon, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, in Grand Strand Hospital, in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She was born Oct. 25, 1948, in McKeesport, daughter of the late Steve K. and Irene M. (Sakal) Csokuly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas A. Lapsley, in 2017; her brother, Steve Csokuly; and brother-in-law, Darryl Willis. Virginia was retired from numerous jobs over the years, both in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, in Shallote, former member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior and was very active in her church and community in both Pennsylvania and North Carolina. She was a member of the Elks, in Little River, S.C., and also a member of Sons of the American Legion Post 503. She enjoyed cruising with her family members and especially relaxing on the beach. Virginia is survived by her two children, Christine (Bob) Miller and Thomas (Holly) Lapsley II, both of Herminie; five special grandchildren, Samantha Miller, Shane Miller, Kendra Miller, Cara (Miller) Shrubb and Troy Lapsley; five special great-grandchildren, Kristin and Trenton, and Austin, Aubriana and Aydin; her three sisters, Mary (Sam) Byers, of Elizabeth, Evelyn Sistrunk, of Pennsylvania, and Lori Willis, of Pittsburgh; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Virginia will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors near and far. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, with the Rev. William Little officiating.
