Wilson L. "Butch" Fabean, 96, of Smithton, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Smithton, son of the late Greeno and Lena (Regotti) Fabean. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Coltura) Fabean; two brothers, Vincent and Edward Fabean; and four sisters, Georgina Fabean, June Dongelli, Lillian Hodge and Marge Overand. Prior to his retirement he was a machinist, having worked for Arrow Tool & Die in Smithton. He was also an excellent butcher, having worked for Wagner's and Pittavino's in Smithton for many years. Wilson was a past member of Hope Memorial Lutheran Church in Smithton, member of the Smithton Volunteer Fire Department for more than 20 years, assistant scout master for the Boy Scouts of America and was also a member of the Smithton Sportsman Association. Wilson is survived by his two daughters, Shirley (David) VanBibber of Smithton, and Linda (Norman) Tuccelli, of West Newton; two grandsons, Scott and Albert Yazzani; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Gabrielle and Dominic Yazzani; a brother, Jack (Marlene) Fabean, of Smithton; a brother-in-law, Wayne Overand; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Wilson's smile and nod of approval will remain forever in our hearts. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. There will be no public viewing per Wilson's wishes. JOSEPH W.
